Leaving at bang on 8pm Van Gogh left her dock with from what I could see quite a bit of funnel smoke! She was soon moving up Southampton water and caught the sun really well as she approached Hythe. I'd previously got a few snaps of her stern from Mayflower park but they were a little dark due to the sun's position. This was my first outing to see Van Gogh and I was pleasantly surprised by this little cruiser's look she soon picked up speed and was headed out in readiness for the D-Day 60th Anniversary duties.
