» QE2's 36th Anniversary

Ships Attending: {Queen Elizabeth 2}
Date: {02/05/05}

What a sunny day! Just right for QE2 who was celebrating her 36th year of sailing since leaving Southampton for her maiden voyage back in 1969. Having notched up over 5.3million nautical miles she truly is one of the world's greatest liners. It was a splendid day and im sure the passengers and the celebrities on board had a great time. It won't be long before Queen Elizabeth 2 becomes the longest serving Cunarder - passing the Scythia who made it to 36 years four months and two days.

After QE2 left the horizon, another vessel appeared - The new Legend of the Seas! She wasn't actually due to arrive until the next morning, but as luck would have it I was in the right place with my camera and got a few shots of her sailing slowly up Southampton water. Hopefully I'll get some more shots of the Royal Caribbean vessel shortly.
